Everytime we go to Niagara Falls, we go to Mama's for dinner. The service
is a little slow and the sauce could use a little more flavour, but worth
every penny. Authentic food at its best. Almost as good as my Italian
Mom's. Is priced right for the large portions, have had trouble finishing
everything.
Best time to go is early evening to avoid the crowds. We always go around
6 and usually have a minimal wait. See you in the spring for our
semi-annual visit!!!
Food was plain tasting, cook did not prepare food to my request for
making it spicy also had maybe 8 baby clams in entire linguini. Food &
cheap wine was overpriced and not that good. Service was terrible, when
waitress "finally" asked if everything was ok (at the end of the
meal) I told her my complaints, she offered no apology and just walked
away. The air conditioning was so poor, we were hotter than our meal. I
felt like I got ripped off.
$100 for 3 plates of pasta - no salad either - just pasta & 2 glasses
of house brand wine - hello?
I've told Italian family members about my experience, they were appalled.
This restaurant is obviously not up to traditional Italian standards.
It was the best little italian restaurant, my husband and I visit every
anniversary in March. My husband and I wanted to go
out for a romantic dinner, and we heard that Mama mia's was excellent. The
food was absolutely DISGUSTING due to how nasty and salty the red pasta
sauce was, and how watery, the alfredo sauce was...there was no taste in
the alfredo sauce...no cheese, nothing creamy, just basically noodles
floating in water. We ended up not paying for the meal due to the fact
that it was impossible to try and eat these meals. The funny thing is...we
seen 2 other tables send their pasta with red sauce back, because of the
saltiness, and one of those tables sent both plates back and left. The
good thing is...the service was great, our waitress was very
understanding, and she didn't seem surprised.
We
visited on a busy Labor Day weekend and this was one of the few places
that there was not a line outside! The waitress was very pleasant and our
drinks order was great! The food on the other hand was not great.
The Carbonara was a real disappointment - the cream sauce had separated
leaving blobs of milk solids on the rather thick and starchy pasta and the
bottom of the dish was swimming in oil from the separation.
The garlic bread was the same bread offered free except it had been
lightly spread with garlic butter and very lightly toasted- the bread was
too light a consistency to capture the garlic flavor. The chicken
Cacciatore fell short of my husband's expectations - the sauce was overly
sweet and quite runny.

Excellent Food, great Atmosphere, always have dinner here when we are in
town, the service is excellent, and the food is out of this world.
The service was ridiculously slow. A few drinks were delivered, but
several of our party had to remind the waitress twice to bring the rest of
our drinks. The pasta was bland, and took a very long time to be prepared.
The special of the day (spaghetti with meatballs) turned out to be a
little spaghetti with one meatball. When my husband asked for more meat
with his dish, he was told that one meatball is what he gets. When our
bills eventually arrived, after we voiced our complaints to the waitress,
they had the nerve to tack on an automatic 15% tip for the inept wait
staff.
Don't waste your money at this place.
The food was amazing, best lasagna i've ever had! We will bring our
family again for sure, the server was very friendly and took care of us.
try this place!
Not worth your time or money. Says home cooked meals, taste like a TV dinner with canned pasta sauce. Also, the wait staff made us feel like we were wasting their time. Everything as a whole was just plain AWFUL!!
The spaghetti is very good, is differ from what I ever had before. Overall, I enjoy my dinner.
